Found Object Sculptures

Hello, My name is Nives.  Thank you for coming and spending a few moments with me.  These are my children, my stories, my life.  Don't look at me, look at them.  But, if you have a few more minutes and would like to know me, I will try to answer a few questions.

Who is Nives?

How to tell you who or what Nives is... Let me try.  Nives is the dancer, the dreamer, the storyteller, the maid, the waitress, the kitchen helper, the woman, the gardener, the traveler, the actress of her own plays, the assistant producer, the kid's art teacher, the secretary, the Italian, the child that likes to play, the wife, the loving, the angry, the bossy, the ex-wife, the one that was able to bow to her husband as a teacher, the speedy, the quiet, and many more.  Each one is me, or part of me.  Sometimes it is not very easy to get all of me to harmonize, but I really do my best to love them all, like the Mother does.

Here, I present the child that likes to play.  The old wood blocks, the Lego, or whatever she finds.  I can't help it, I love to play.  Maybe because at the age of eight I had to quit.  My twin brother and sister were born.  Here and there in trying to survive, I did the best that I could not to totally ignore this part of me.  Recognizing that I hadn't taken care of this body as I should, it being the Creator's gift that allows all of me to manifest.  As a lost child, I one day asked, "What should I do?", and the words of Rumi came, saying, "The beauty that we love, be what we do".  This is the beauty that I love - forms.  Each separate form is interesting and unique, but when they get together, they become part of me - they show me an image that has a message.  They are my children and my teachers.  They are part of me like the all is part of the Creator.

I did my best to follow the instruction, or, maybe, my heart wish. I really would like to go back and play for a little.  I did what I had to do, now it is no longer up to me but to you and you and you... to all that is the One.  If you are ready to give something for them to show that you like them, it would be appreciated.  But let me tell you something - All these pieces originally were created to be alone or part of something different.  They are glued together and they are somewhat delicate.  Only the Creator can unite what is separate.  I only have glue that is human-made, "impermanent".  If a little piece falls off, don't be concerned, do like I did and glue it back together.  If you'd like to do some adding or changes, it's yours.  I hope that they will bring you the same happiness that they brought me.  May all the blessing be.  - Nives Nicole
