Aaron Gross

Art Glass

In 1988 Aaron Gross started art school at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. He began as a ceramics major, but was soon lured into the glass studio. After four weeks in the glass department he was hired for an entry-level position at a production wineglass factory. There he worked for six and a half years working his way up to production manager. After finishing school and bidding farewell to the goblet factory, Aaron moved back to Texas to continue blowing glass. With over fourteen years experience glass making Aaron has developed an extensive repertoire of techniques and decorative elements. Exhibiting at many art shows and private installations he has gained a foothold in the art world. His dream has come true, and now he is able to create art glass in his own shop and intertwine his personal philosophy and his talent. Aaron states, “people see glass as fragile, but it is the most archival medium. Things I make will be around forever.” This makes his work meaningful, Aaron says making glass is satisfying, and will never lose its appeal.
